Important news for all Reginheim visitors:
  • Due to a continuing lack of time Reginheim will no longer be moderated; it will only remain online for reference. For questions I can still be contacted through the e-mail address on this website.
  • As you may have noticed Reginheim has been offline for a long time. This is because our webspace provider (Geocities.com) had closed. However, this website is now back online thanks to the kind folks of Geocities.ws, who have decided to provide webspace to former Geocities.com clients. The new URL to the Reginheim website is http://www.geocities.ws/reginheim. Don't forget to update your bookmarks!
  • Although the scheduled update has been cancelled, I did change/improve a few things and added a page about Germanic personal names, which I wrote for the yearbook of "Nederlands Heidendom".

No news for over two years... sorry for that! Lots of things have been going on in my private life that prevented me from doing any work on Reginheim. The major update I mentioned is still being worked on but I'm so terribly busy that I can't say anything definitive about when it will be finished. Until that time you'll have to make do with this older version of the site until I finally have the time to do any serious updating work. My apologies.

    September 14, 2004
There is a Major update coming up!, as you may have all noticed it has been very quiet here on Reginheim lately with hardly any updates or new pages, that's because I'm very busy with the update; there will be numerous changes, a new lay-out, corrections of any errors and mistakes on the site, a whole load of new information, and I will even re-write some of the pages because they are too old and outdated.
The update will still take some time to complete so you'll have to be patient, but when it's ready the improved Reginheim will be far better than it has ever been and after that I can finally free some time to start adding new pages to the site because I have collected many interesting information that is not available anywhere else.
Make sure you join the Reginheim forum if you wish to receive email notifications of changes to the site, even if you're not planning to post it's worth registering for the newsletter you'll receive, in the meantime I'm working as hard as I can to finish the update!

Another update, it took me some time to finish but I hope you'll enjoy it, I also have good news about the Boomspeed saga; it's still working for some reason so the forum can keep its avatars, speaking of the forum; be sure to join it.
Here are the details about the new update:

  • Added a new page about the Paleolithicum and the Mesolithicum under "history".
  • Added a new page about the Neolithicum under "history".
  • Added a new page about the Indo-Europeanization under "history".
  • Added a new page about the Bronze Age under "history".
  • sources/thanks page; added Hans Meijer to the "thanks to" list for giving me his permission to use his pictures of hunebeds, I also added new sources to the "sources" list.
  • Removed dead links and added new links to the links page.

  • Fixed some spelling mistakes (as usual... LOL).

    January 13, 2004
On the links page I have added a link to an online version of Hans Talhoffers fechtbuch, it's from 1467 but still very interesting for people who would like to know more about the fighting techniques that were used by our ancestors.

    December 13, 2003
I'm a bit grumpy today because within three days banner linking to Reginheim is no longer possible and all forum avatars will be lost.
The banner and avatar files were hosted at Boomspeed.com but now I've suddenly received an email that I have to give Boomspeed my credit card number for their free hosting service to be continued.
This was not a part of the deal when I signed up there so to hell with Boomspeed, I'm trying to find an alternative soon.

    December 06, 2003
  • Added a page about the Germanic earthgoddess Erda/Frigg/Holda.
  • Added a section about the neighbouring peoples of the Germans, it contains new pages about the Balts, Celts, Romans, Slavs, Huns, Sarmatians, and Uralians/Finno-Ugrians.
  • Added a page with the translation of the song of lord Halewijn, a Dutch song that is based on an old Germanic legend.
  • I have also added a button to the index page that will take you straight to the Reginheim forum, it saves 1 mouseclick and you don't have to search in the site menu.
  • And yes stupid me has again corrected some spelling mistakes, special thanks to mr. Sontheim for pointing them out to me.

    April 29, 2003
This is the first newsmessage, today I have finally finished most of Reginheim and the site is now ready to go online.
I hope you will all enjoy my site and feel free to tell me what you think of it.
My apologies for the commercial ads but since I'm a cheapscate Dutchman I simply refuse to pay for something I can get for free, at the moment this site is hosted at Geocities which is the best I could find, if you know of any better free webspace providers please tell me.
