Did Tesla ever reside in New Jersey and if so, what did he focus on there?

While nothing could be found to indicate that Tesla had a residence in New Jersey, his first business venture, the Tesla Electric Light Company, was headquartered there in Rahway. It was formed in 1884 to help satisfy a substantial market for electric-arc lights used to illuminate streets and factories. It is worthwhile noting that Tesla's first U.S. patent application dated March 30, 1885 was for an electric-arc lamp.
